The Hololens 2 Industrial Edition from Microsoft offers a large ecosystem with a broad portfolio of diverse mixed reality applications – both from Microsoft itself and from third-party providers. The cloud-based architecture runs Azure. This makes HoloLens a true all-rounder for a range of applications – for example, remote maintenance, interactive training or error-minimized on-site maintenance.
6-DoF tracking and spatial mapping provide accurate mapping of physical spaces. In addition, the Microsoft data glasses have a speedometer as well as magnetic and gyro sensors.
The Microsoft Smart Glasses can be controlled both by hand and by voice. Hand tracking allows direct manipulation of the digital image of the physical movement.
A 5-channel microphone captures commands issued via voice control even in environments with high noise levels. The integrated camera takes photos with 8 MP and videos with a resolution of 1920×1080 and 30 frames per second. A lithium battery provides a runtime of up to 3 hours. A Snapdragon 850 is installed as the processor. 4 GB of working memory offer enough space for the applications from the Hololens ecosystem.
